The Rossonian —
Heart of Five Points
For generations, the Rossonian has been the place where music soared, culture thrived, and community came alive. Nestled in the heart of Denver’s historic Five Points — the soul of the city — this landmark pulsed at the center of a neighborhood once known as the “Harlem of the West.” Opening in 1912, the Rossonian quickly became the center of Black social life, welcoming jazz legends like Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Count Basie, and Louis Armstrong, while serving as a vital gathering place in a time when segregation limited opportunity and access.
